Wolf Athletics was our pick to continue innovation in 2015, and they followed through. The creators of the “Ghost,” a flexible, durable, glass lacrosse shaft, have made a big leap in the after-dark lacrosse market with their latest invention. Their LED version of the Ghost features the same bulletproof construction and responsive performance in addition to the only butt-end in the world with a circuit board attached. Upon unscrewing the bottom of the cap, players can turn the shaft on or off. The design is durable and meant to last through all conditions with a waterproof seal. Continue reading to learn more! Shootout for Soldiers has launched their 2015 store with gear for both men & women. You do not have to participate in the event to purchase, and honestly this gear is some of the best I’ve seen. Really high quality stuff. Slightly high price-tag, but it’s all going to a good cause. Check it out on the online store.
Close to a year ago, we heard from Aero Lacrosse about their mission to create the lightest shafts in lacrosse. Their website was well made, and it seemed pretty legitimate. Unfortunately, we didn’t hear from them for a while after signing up for their email list. However, it seems they’ve been in the factory getting the final touches done for the big release, which is “coming soon” according to their email. Personally, I can’t wait to see these things, as I am a huge fan of innovation in the carbon fiber industry. If they live up to their claims, they could give some established companies a run for their money. Sign up for their email list at AeroLacrosse.com for updates in the future, including a possible Kickstarter for their handles.
Wolf Athletics has made headlines this year, and rightfully so. Lacrosse equipment has been pretty standard for a long time, and finally companies are beginning to change it. Plastic heads and alloy shafts seemed to be the only route until a few years back, when True Temper teamed up with companies like Epoch and the carbon revolution began. This year, Wolf took an even different take on the industry with their Ghost shaft. With a whole new material at an affordable price, it is a great new step for the game. From just $85, you can get a clear shaft, to an American themed shaft, or something as unique as their “Glow series” that we were lucky enough to get our hands on. We look forward for more to come from Wolf in 2015. If you’re interested, buy their shafts at their store, or pick up a slightly used “Glow Series” for a discount in ours.
Wall ball is great, but sometimes shooting practice is a necessity. Chances are you don’t live right near a field, so it may be hard to find a 6×6 in walking distance. If you don’t have a big yard, don’t worry. Work on your aim, close range precision. Or, you could risk it and use your house as a backstop. Either way, our friends over at Lacrosse Scoop have put together a very useful Goal Buying Guide for all your needs. Shop with ease, and find your goal within minutes.
